I’ve started working on Henson-Conant’s Nightingale and aspire to this young man’s calm triplets, well timed glisses and charming interpretation. Nothing fancy just lyrically sweet and touching. We’ll see. Thus far I’m at the “Holy sh-t– made it through that passage with my dignity intact!” stage only.

The Beginning in the Middle conference is taking place this weekend and I’d sell my soul to the devil to attend someday. Hopefully attendees will share their experiences in one of the forums. (Harp Column has a section specifically devoted to those of us who self-identify this way)

La Rosa Enflorece: Sunita Staneslaw’s arrangement of this Ladino Folk Song (thank you so much for publishing it!) is inspirational without a doubt. But here’s an adaptation for only 23 strings that makes my heart sing as well.
The harpist is marialek who says “I play without music and not use books” in one of her youtube comments. Sigh…
